It's no Siri, but Dragon Express will let your Mac take a letter for you. If Siri has gotten you hooked on talking to your machines instead of typing on them, you might be interested in Dragon Express. No, it's not a railway train from Harry Potter, but a cut down version of Nuance's Dragon Dictate software, available in the Mac App Store.
Nuance's transcription tech has been around for years on the PC, and more recently came to the Mac. The problem: It costs $200. Dragon Express is $50, and keeps most of what makes its bigger brother useful.
Open the app and start talking. It listens and transcribes your speech into text.
