Flickr Integrated in Yahoo Mail, Search Results Offer Keyword Alerts

Its no secret that Yahoo has been working hard to improve its services, sunset the ones that are no longer popular, and to make it more appealing overall to both new and old users. The company has been on a shopping spree recently as well, buying up a number of companies, even the popular blogging platform Tumblr for over $1 billion. A few changes have been made to Yahoo Mail and Yahoo's search results. Flickr has been integrated in to mail, the search results now offer keyword alerts.
Flickr integration in Yahoo Mail will make it easier for users to send sets or even single photos from their Flickr accounts.

Bug-eyed next-gen Nissan Titan spied testing

It's no secret that the fullsize pickup truck market is dominated by offerings from Detroit's Big Three automakers, the Nissan Titan and Toyota Tundra not able to outdo the Ford F-150, Ram 1500 or Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra twins. A great deal of that has to do with the fact that, while the American trucks have all undergone evolutionary updates that include a range of body styles, fuel-efficient engines and excellent technology, the Japanese offerings are, well, really old.

Pelican i1075 iPad Case review

Pelican i1075 iPad Case review

It seems more people are finding that an iPad and a keyboard (for easier data entry) covers most of the functions they used to rely on a laptop computer for.  This means that a lot of the gear bags on the market, designed for laptops, are not suited for the relatively tiny iPad and keyboard.  The i1075 iPad Case from PelicanCase is custom-molded to hold the iPad (1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation) and an Apple Bluetooth keyboard in a package that's about the size of a laptop.  It's watertight and airtight to keep your gear protected.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition Android 4.3 ROM Available

Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition Android 4.3 ROM Available

Both Google Play editions of the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 were made available for purchase just a few days ago, and already we've seen the ROM for the Google Play Edition version of the HTC One makes its way onto the Internet. Merely hours after that ROM was released, SamMobile now claims they have an early 4.3 build for the Samsung Galaxy S4, which was reportedly spotted earlier today. SamMobile claims the ROM they have is from the Google Play Edition variant of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and is completely functional when tested on other Galaxy S4s, although there's no way to verify their claim.

Half-Life 2 For Linux Makes Its Way Out Of Beta

Good news Linux gamers, it looks like Half-Life 2 for Linux has managed to make its way out of beta and is currently available for download on Steam for Linux, according to an announcement the company made earlier today. We know that Valve has been hard at work on Steam for Linux and has slowly been increasing the number of games that will support the Linux platform, and with the release of Half-Life 2, it's a pretty big deal. To top it off, it seems that the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset will be supported as well, so if you own the headset, you will be able to take Half-Life 2 for a spin wearing it.

Unity 4 Coming To XBox One, Free Windows Support

Earlier today, Microsoft and Unity have made a joint announcement about the fact that Unity is coming to Xbox One, and that Microsoft Developers who already have a Unity Pro 4 license will get the Windows support (re-compiling the game on Windows/Xbox 1) for free (a $1500 value). If you are unfamiliar with Unity, it is a game-engine that comes with all kinds of ready-to-use libraries (graphics, physics, collisions, particles…). It has been extremely popular on Mobile devices because a game can be recompiled on a number of platforms, and that's a huge time (and money!) saver for game developers.

Mouse Cloned From Blood Drop

Mouse Cloned From Blood Drop

Now here is an interesting idea that scientists of the future might want to explore, especially when it comes to building up the most efficient workforce, by cloning someone using a single drop of blood. Well, if they have managed to do it in Japan, why not do so elsewhere. Of course, the single drop of blood resulted in the clone of a mouse, and not a human, but if one were to extrapolate this achievement down the road, we could see some really interesting arguments among scientists kick off.

Sony may have dodged a bullet by removing its PlayStation Eye from the PlayStation 4 in order to save $100, thus winning E3 in the hearts and minds of a large number of gamers. But that doesn't mean they didn't plan on making bundles available that would not only include the PS Eye as well as a PlayStation 4 game. According to an image which was reportedly pulled from Sony's own asset servers, it looks like Sony may have originally planned to bundle the PlayStation Eye with the PS4 along with Knack.

Dish backs out of Clearwire bid, nothing to stop Sprint now

I guess Sprint's $5 a share offer was too rich for Dish's blood, causing them to fold on their Clearwire acquisition. They announced today via press release that they are now formally withdrawning their bid to purchase Clearwire, with nothing standing in the way of the soon-to-be-Softbank-owned Sprint. This finally ends a brutal bidding war for Clearwire and their spectrum. With a valuation of around $14 billion, Sprint's going to have to dig deep into their pockets to find the money for Clearwire.

We have three TVs in my house, but only two of them are connected to cable boxes.  I have the TV in my bedroom connected to a Roku 3 box (see related links for my review), so I can access the Time Warner Cable programming they make available through Roku's TWC channel.  Unfortunately, the TWC channel doesn't include any of the local broadcast stations in that programming. I've tried various indoor antennas with that TV with various degrees of success.  I was pleased to be selected to try out the FlatWave Amped HD Antenna when Winegard offered one to The Gadgeteer for review.  This is the first amplified indoor wall antenna I've tried.

UAW poised to take notes from German labor unions?

UAW poised to take notes from German labor unions?

Automotive News Europe reports the United Auto Workers may borrow from German labor unions' playbook. UAW President Bob King says that he's seen the merit of the country's labor system after having being appointed to the supervisory board of Opel last year. Germany's so-called codetermination laws state that union leaders or employee representatives must receive as many as half of the seats on the supervisory boards that control an automaker's major investments. Those boards can also hire or fire executives, and special work councils handle decisions on issues like work hours, benefits and work conditions.

We've heard a lot about the Huawei Ascend W2, and we've also seen it a few times, either in renders, or in live photos. Huawei has official showcased the W2 today - in China - confirming that it's a low-cost Windows Phone 8 handset. It looks like the smartphone isn't as thin as initially believed. Or at least the model showcased today (made for China Mobile, and coming with TD-LTE connectivity) isn't, since it measures 134 x 66.7 x 9.9 mm.

Apple announced its major overhaul in iOS 7 just a few weeks ago, bringing with it a much more flat design when compared to previous version of iOS. We know many of you consider yourselves fans of the change, while just as many of you completely hate the redesign. We could spend a couple of days to gauge how the Internet feels about iOS 7′s redesign, or we could just rely on Polar to give us results from their very own poll which gauged people's response between the old and new icons. . Polar received over 95,000 from the general public, whose responses were overwhelmingly positive towards the new icons over the old ones.

Mazda is on the cusp of unveiling an all-new Mazda3, but the compact will mark an important milestone before that happens. The very first Mazda3 rolled off of the assembly line on June 25, 2003. A decade later, the little car has snagged some 136 awards. The first generation sold 2.2 million units over the span of six years, and the second has smiled its way into the hearts of 1.4 million buyers since 2009. Mazda notes the machine even took the honor of being the top-selling passenger car in Australia in 2011 and 2012.

So, what will the future bring? The Japanese automaker is keeping the details to itself for the moment.
