AT&T Reportedly Considering Vodafone Takeover

AT&T Reportedly Considering Vodafone Takeover

Vodafone is the largest mobile carrier in Europe and AT&T reportedly wants a piece of it. Bloomberg reports today that AT&T's employees are internally “laying the groundwork” for a takeover of Vodafone as soon as next year. Apparently both companies have yet to enter formal negotiations, but AT&T is said to be focusing on which Vodafone assets it would retain and which could be sold off to others if a takeover does go through. The carrier is reportedly also preparing a strategy to bolster Vodafone's operations in Europe, UK's EE is said to be its alternative takeover target.

FiberFix Uses Resin, Water To Become 100x Stronger Than Duct Tape

Whenever something breaks within your home, one of the first things you grab in order to fix it is probably a roll of duct tape. Sure – duct tape can help fix most things, but there are some breaks that even that magical black piece of tape can't fix. For those kinds of breaks, FiberFix might just be what you're really looking for as it's a special tape that is 100x stronger than duct tape. When FiberFix is applied, it hardens into a steel-like material through the use of a mixture of resin and water.

Seeing as we're at the cusp of the next generation of gaming with the release of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One imminent, it isn't uncommon for games these days to require a mandatory install of content from the game disc onto a console's hard drive. We've seen Grand Theft Auto V and Battlefield 4 require players to install content on their hard drives, and it looks like Call of Duty: Ghosts will do the same when it's released next month. Call of Duty: Ghosts players who plan on playing the game on the Xbox 360 can expect approximately 3GB of the game's single-player campaign to be installed onto their hard drive.

Neurocam Uses Your Brainwaves To Gauge Your Interests

Speaking of neuro-based gadgets, the Tokyo-based company, Neurowear, is working on a device called the Neurocam which can apparently read your brainwaves to determine what your interests are, although we're not sure what they plan to do with that information after. Perhaps recommend songs, apps, or books. Or worse yet, targeted advertising. This will be accomplished through a headset called the MindWave Mobile and together with the Neurocam and its accompanying software, will be able to scan your brainwaves to gauge your interest as you look at the world around you.

One feature of the game that surprised many players when they first started playing Grand Theft Auto V was the fact you could take selfies with the cellphones of in-game characters, resulting in many humorous images to be posted online. Rockstar realizes you all really enjoy this feature, and as a result has put together its first Snapmatic Photo Contest.

GM reports $700M net income for Q3

With the third quarter of 2013 wrapping up, General Motors has published its quarterly earnings, announcing a net income of $700 million, a significant drop from Q3 2012's $1.5 billion in net income. The drop is being blamed on a $900 million loss from "special items," $800 million of which was part of a 120-million share repurchase of preferred stock. GM also lost $500 million on tax expenses. Despite the drop in income, net revenue was up $1.4 billion year-over-year, from $37.6 billion in Q3 of 2012 to $39 billion in Q3 2013. Earnings before interest and tax climbed to $2.6 billion from $2.3 billion.

When Nokia announced a couple of years ago for forgo Symbian in favor of Microsoft's Windows Phone handset, many were perplexed especially since Windows Phone was hardly the most profitable platform at the moment, and we guess the best alternative would be Google's open-sourced mobile platform, Android. Speaking with The Hindu newspaper, Nokia's Stephen Elop revealed rather candidly that Nokia's investment in the Windows Phone platform was overinvested on purpose in a bid to help the operating system build some momentum. Odoyo Power+Shell EX for iPhone 5x5S review

Anyone who uses their phone for several hours a day has to fret about their battery life at some point. My husband and I use our phones quite often, and his older phone would need some sort of power by suppertime. I recently purchased a battery case for my husband, and ever since then I have been a bit jealous. When I saw the Odoyo Power+Shell EX for the iPhone 5, I marveled at how similar it looked to my husband's case, and had to try it out for myself.
Inside of the box you'll find a microUSB cable, headphone adapter, instruction manual, and the case itself.

The case splits in two pieces for assembly.

Ferrari has built a monster with its F12 Berlinetta, a V12-powered grand tourer that has the looks of a supermodel and the firepower of a small country. And while it's been on the scene for a minute, Drive's Chris Harris wasn't going to turn down the opportunity to hoon a 740-horsepower prancing horse around the scenic Anglesey Circuit in Wales. In fact, not only was Ferrari nice enough to loan Harris the F12, but it threw in an extra four sets of tires, just for him to destroy while taking moving pictures.
