Barnes & Noble launched its Nook tablet back in 2009, and three years later, the company is announcing it will no longer be manufacturing its Nook tablet line. Instead, it will offset manufacturing duties to third-party companies as Barnes & Noble looks to create a “partnership model for manufacturing in the competitive color tablet market.” The change in manufacturing is to help Barnes & Nobles reduce losses by limiting the risks associated with manufacturing its Nook tablet line.
