Microsoft Windows Phone MarketPlace Now Has Over 40,000 Apps, 68% Of Them Are Free!

Windows Phone Market place which debuted in the October of last year had about 30,000 apps last month, when Microsoft celebrated its first anniversary. Just a few weeks later, the number of apps have grown by 10,000. These include apps, games, themes, etc. Apparently, the fast growing count is suggestive that developers are picking up pace, and more and more people are interested in submitting apps for Microsoft's new and refreshing mobile OS platform. Here's a quick look at the stats and the number of apps per category available for WP7 users.
Since the last month's count, about 85% of submissions were apps while 15% of the rest were games.
