Panasonic hasn't abandoned its plans to start offering Android phones outside its home country (Japan). According to Reuters and Nikkei, the Japanese company is currently negotiating with "a major telecommunications firm" to bring Android handsets to Europe in early 2012. There are no other specific details on this, but the "major telecoms firm" is likely one of the following: Vodafone, Orange, Telefonica / O2, or T-Mobile.
