After six months of intense searching, Nokia may finally be able to sell its luxury phone subsidiary Vertu to a rightful investor. Reuters reports that the Finnish company is in talks with private equity group EQT. Operating independently within Nokia, Vertu dishes out ultra-luxury phones made of stainless steel, titanium, alligator skin, and carbon fiber. Some Vertu phones even have sapphire crystal displays and its own concierge service.
The wire service also reports that Nokia is asking EQT 200 million euros (around US$249 million) to sell the Vertu, with its source claiming that the deal will go through in the coming weeks.
