Now that Windows 8 is slowly being introduced (starting with Microsoft's very own Surface tablet), users of smartphones running on Windows Phone 7.5 wonder if their devices will also get some of that W8 goodness. Microsoft has put that speculation to rest with some bad news: no over-the-air Windows 8 updates will be provided to current Windows Phones. It has been speculated that Windows Phone 8 mobile OS will be available on newer phones because of improvements in hardware support and changes in platform architecture.
