For a long while earlier this year, LG was rumored to be making the next Nexus smartphone (let's call it Nexus 5). And back then the general consensus was that, just like the also LG-made Nexus 4 before it, the Nexus 5 would share all the important hardware features with the LG device that it's based on. In the case of the Nexus 4, that would be the LG Optimus G. And for the Nexus 5, this base was supposed to be the LG G2.
So everyone was expecting the Nexus 5 to sport the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor as the G2. Then, two things happened.
