Ah. But no more. Japan's D-Design has created a line of humidifiers I'd actually want in my living room or bedroom. Truth be told, I really, really wish I had one in my hotel room right now.
Two styles — the tall, slender Allonge and curvy Middle — are styled like vases. You could easily put one in a corner or on a tabletop and it would look to all the world like an artistic accoutrement. Both use ultrasonic vibrations to turn the water stored in the tank to vapor.
