Focusrite iTrack Solo microphone and instrument interface for iPad, Mac, and PC

Focusrite iTrack Solo microphone and instrument interface for iPad, Mac, and PC

Most of the instrument interfaces for connecting an instrument to a computer or iPad that we've looked at on the Gadgeteer require the instrument to have a 1x4″ phono plug or a USB port (or adapter, like the Apple Camera Connection kit).  They work great, except when you have instruments or mics with different connectors.  The iTrack Solo from Focusrite, a British maker of pro-audio equipment, uses the connectors found in studios around the world.  It  has a microphone pre-amp and lets you attach a high-quality, professional microphone and has a second input for an instrument like a guitar, bass, or electro-acoustic guitar.
