Our sister site, AOL Autos, has been working hard all year to collect and narrow down this year's most interesting and innovative automotive technologies into six finalists for its inaugural Technology of the Year Award. Over 30 technologies were considered across the areas of Connectivity, Active Safety and Telematics. After reviewing them all, the group has been narrowed down to six finalists by a panel of 16 judges, which includes myself and four other Autoblog editors, as well editors from Engadget and Translogic, and even Tony Fadell, the former leader of Apple's iPod team and creator of the Nest learning thermostat.
