Protests Organized Against Apple Over Welfare of Chinese Workers

Protests Organized Against Apple Over Welfare of Chinese Workers

Protests are being organized on a global scale against Apple's use of Foxconn and other China-based manufacturing plants assembling its iPhones and iPads. Representatives of petition sites Change.org and SumOfUs.org accuse the Big Fruit of turning a deaf ear over harsh working conditions in its outsourced factories. Over 250,000 people have signed petitions demanding Apple to come up with a “worker protection strategy.” These petitions are being delivered to Apple stores in major cities including New York, as you see in the photo.
It is no secret that Foxconn has been criticized for its harsh labor conditions.
