‘Anonymous' hackers plan to stop CISPA with Operation Defense: Phase 2 [video]

. The United States House of Representatives recently voted to pass the controversial Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA). The bill looks to give businesses and the federal government legal protection to share cyber threats with one another in an effort to prevent online attacks. Internet privacy, neutrality advocates and even the Obama Administration feel as if the bill does not contain enough limits on how and when the government may monitor private information.

Best Buy outs upcoming Logitech solar-powered keyboard case for the iPad

Best Buy outs upcoming Logitech solar-powered keyboard case for the iPad

Thanks to a Best Buy listing, it seems that the retailer might have let the cat out of the bag a tad early pertaining to a Logitech keyboard case for Apple's iPad. The keyboard case/stand combo is expected to weigh 15.9 ounces and will come with integrated solar panels in the back. As much as we'd like to think that the solar panels will actually charge the iPad, it's actually meant for the keyboard which means that you will not have to worry about it running out of battery, unless of course you plan to use it in a dark room for days on end. It will pair with your iPad via Bluetooth and is expected to retail for $129.99.

Huawei partners with Intel to test TD-LTE interoperability in China

In a classic case of east meets west, Huawei and Intel have joined forces to create an interoperability test lab that will focus on China's homegrown time-division LTE (TD-LTE) network. While the technology runs contrary to the more common frequency-division LTE (FD-LTE), the Chinese brand of 4G is situated to take root in the US under Clearwire's banner. Through its partnership with Huawei, Chipzilla - a newbie in the smartphone arena - will be able to engage in end-to-end testing of its mobile equipment and verify its readiness for TD-LTE.

RIM unveils NFC enabled Blackberry Music Gateway

During the Blackberry Solutions Showcase in Orlando, RIM unveiled the Blackberry Music Gateway which allows users to stream music on their Blackberry devices onto another device simply by pairing it with either Bluetooth, or NFC which can be found in some Blackberry phones such as the Bold 9900. This would essentially turn Blackberry devices or even the Playbook tablet into a wireless remote control for wireless music playback. While ideally the Music Gateway should be linked to a music system, it has been reported that it would also be compatible with car stereos as well.

Phi: a wireless re-routing card that puts you in control of the airwaves (video)

For all the talk of convergence in mobile devices, there's relatively little chatter about the coming together of wireless signals themselves. In other words, why should we have a separate device to interact with each type of wireless signal. And so, with that intriguing question, begins the pitch for a new device call Phi. It's a $750 antennae-laden PCIe card that slots into a desktop and gathers up wireless signals that are flying around the home - so long as they have a frequency below 4GHz and don't involve bank-busting neutrinos.
